Bill Davidson

William Davidson was born in Rockford, Michigan where his earliest teachers were Jim Martin and Jed Scott. He is the recipient of many awards including the Wickline and Seamen career grant, ASCAP Foundation Michael Masser award, prize-winner in the Pittsburgh Concert Society competition, semi-finalist in the 2017 Virginia Waring International Piano competition, as well as a competitor in the 2019 Sendai International and the 2020 National Chopin piano competitions. He has appeared in venues such as the Lincoln Center Appel Room, Aronoff Center, and Hitachi Systems Hall Sendai, and as a collaborator, has performed with renowned musicians including Paquito D’Rivera, Andres Cardenes, and Sergey Schepkin with whom he performed in piano duo recitals as part of the Glissando concert series held in Boston. William studied under Silvia Roederer at Western Michigan University and under Sergey Schepkin at Carnegie Mellon University where he completed a Master’s degree. He teaches piano at the University of Pittsburgh and the Carnegie Mellon University Preparatory School.
