The newly introduced Pitt Afropop Ensemble, directed by Zambian Afropop musician Mathew Tembo, will present their first concert on Friday, November 30. The ten-piece ensemble will performance popular music styles from Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, and Nigeria among other sub-Saharan music cultures. The concert will also feature the Pittsburgh based reggae outfit Truths and Rites, Nigerian native Jemiriye Adeniji, and Congolese guest guitarist Clement Kalombo.
