Danny Yung will introduce his concepts of Journey to the West in contemporary theater, and present video screening of excerpts of his recent theater works: Tears of Barren Hill, Flee by Night, and Freud: In Searrch of Chinese Matters and Mind — Peony Pavilion. These will be followed by live solo demonstrations by Mr. Xiao Xiangping, a specialist in the increasingly rare tradition of male performance of female opera roles.
