Bell Yung is a recipient of the 2009 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Mentoring. The award recognizes outstanding mentoring of graduate students seeking a research doctorate degree. His former students currently hold tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at Emory University, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, National Taiwan University, Skidmore College, University of Adelaide, University of California at Los Angeles, University of California at San Diego, University of Haifa, University of Maryland at College Park, University of Puerto Rico, and University of Wisconsin at Madison.
