This week’s podcast features Danielle Maggio, a PhD candidate in Ethnomusicology who sepcializes in African American popular music. In recent years Danielle’s research has focused on 70s funk Legend Betty Davis. She was executive producer on a documentary about Davis and this past summer recorded vocals for Davis’ first new song in 40 years. When she's not working on her dissertation she is the music curator for the Sourceress podcast and DJs (on vinyl!) as Sauce Queen.
