Pittsburgh Symphony Orchesrtra Composer of the Year Joan Tower will coach IonSound Project in an open rehearsal of her music. Don't miss an opportunity to hear how Tower thinks about her music and how the members of critcally acclaimed IonSound Project implement her ideas. It's a chance see how a contemporary concert work comes to life.
Music Department Ensemble-in-Residence IonSound Project will present the second installment of their current season, “Once there, NOW HEAR” on Sunday November 14, 2010 at 7:00 pm in Bellefield Hall Auditorium.
IonSound Project completes their Reduce-Renew-Recycle season with a music by Joan Tower, Daron Hagen, and Francis Poulenc. Featuring guest pianist Amy Williams in Lukas Foss' mesmerizing Solo Observed. This concert will be paired with a unique installation project by visual artist Cheryl Capezzuti.
Department of Music Ensemble-in-Residence IonSound Project will perform new works by Aaron Brooks, Charles Corey, Mark Fromm, Ben Harris, Matthew Heap, Charles Lwanga, Sookyung Sul, and Alec Summers.
On most Thursdays, students and faculty members perform solo or ensemble music in an informal setting. Students gain performance experience and students and audience alike hear new repertory.
