Jazz Concert and Clinic
The Department of Music will host jazz clinics and performances presented by James Johnson III (drums), Glenn Zaleski (piano), Dan Wilson (guitar), and Ivan Taylor (bass). The guest artists will will give two short performances and conduct clinics with members of Pitt's Jazz Ensemble and Small Jazz Ensemble. All events are free and open to the public.

Memorial Service for Geri Allen
Members of the University of Pittsburgh community and the general public will gather to remember the late Geri Allen, former director of the Pitt Jazz Studies program, at a memorial service on September 14, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Heinz Chapel on South Bellefield Avenue, Oakland.
Allen passed away June 27 following a battle with cancer. She was 60.
