Pitt Names Internationally Acclaimed Artist Nicole Mitchell Director of Jazz Studies
The University of Pittsburgh has named Nicole M. Mitchell, an award-winning creative flutist, composer, bandleader and educator, as its William S. Dietrich II Endowed Chair in Jazz Studies, effective July 1, 2019.

Pitt Big Band Festival
Pitt Jazz Ensemble hosts big bands from the region including Falk Middle School, CAPA Middle School, and CAPA High School. Sherrie Maricle, Drummer and leader of the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, will give all participating bands feedback on their performances.
