Audio Excerpt: Heinz Chapel Choir performs Shennandoah.

For over 70 years the Heinz Chapel Choir has presented a cappella music from a wide variety of traditions. Most of its Pittsburgh concerts are held in the Heinz Memorial Chapel on the University campus. In addition to its fall and spring concerts, the choir presents an annual series of four Christmas concerts that are sold out long in advance. The choir is directed by John Goldsmith.

Every other year the choir goes on tour, most recently to China. Other tours have included Brazil (2006), Scandanavia (2003)  Italy and Croatia (2001), Spain and France (1998), Greece and Italy (1995), and Germany, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Switzerland (1992).

Each February the choir offers "Singing Valentines" delivered throughout Valentine's Day weekend—a tradition that has acquired great popularity and has helped raise funds for the choir's activities.
