Mozart and Arnold Oboe Quartets

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Music presents Oboe Quartets by Mozart and Malcom Arnold in a program featuring former and current faculty of the Department. The ensemble will comprise oboist Robin Driscoll, violinist Kypros Markou, Roger Zahab on viola, and Paula Tuttle on cello. Markou, Zahab, and Tuttle will also perform Schubert's String Trio No. 2 in B flat, D. 571.

Kypros Markou returns to Pittsburgh from his current position of director of the orchestra at Wayne State University. He is well known in Western Pennsylvania as former director of Pitt’s Orchestra and of the Westmoreland Symphony. Driscoll, Tuttle, and Zahab are all current members of the performance faculty at Pitt and are active as soloists, in chamber music, and orchestral performance.

Oboe Quartets will take place at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 2014 at Frick Fine Arts Auditorium and is free to the public. Don't miss this opportunity to hear these infrequently performed pieces.
