The 2016 Artists in Residence Program is a joint collaboration between the Departments of Physics and Astronomy, Studio Arts, and Music. Two graduate composers from the Department of Music and two undergraduate artists from the Department of Studio Arts created artworks in active consultation with faculty members from the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

Stephanie Taylor – “Artistic Explorations of Astrophysics” (Professors Carles Badenes, Arthur Kosowsky, and Jeffrey Newman)

Sofia Sandoval – “Experimenting with the Drawn Line: A Link Between Condensed Matter Research and Intaglio Printmaking” (Professor Jeremy Levy)

1–3 p.m.: Musical Performances and Continuation of Exhibition

Laura Schwartz – “Systems Cooling” (Professor Ayres Freitas)

Ryan McMasters – “How to Drive a Qubit” (Professor Michael Hatridge)
