Women's Choral Ensemble

April 9, 2017 - 3:00pm

From Madrigals to Miklós, Poulenc to Pop, with spirituals and songs to lift the spirit in between, audiences will find music to love in the Women's Choral Ensemble Spring Concert. Included in the program will be works by Rachmaninoff, Forrest, Hassler, Halloran, Mealor and Szymko.

Auditions will be held for Department of Music student ensembles beginning Monday, August 29. Our choirs and instrumental ensembles are open to students throughout the University and you are encourgaged to apply regardless of your major. Below, please find specific audition requirements for each of our groups.

December 10, 2016 - 8:00pm

Celebrate the holidays with the Women’s Choral Ensemble as they share music from the Renaissance, traditional Carols including "Still, Still, Still" and "Carol of the Bells, and popular favorites like "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "White Christmas".

October 9, 2016 - 4:00pm

Join Heinz Chapel Choir, Men's Glee Club, and Women's Choral Ensemble as they combine their talents in a celebration of choral singing at Pitt. The Men's Glee Club and Pantherhythms, under the direction of Richard Teaster, will sing a variety of music ranging from 16th century English madrigals to favorites by Billy Joel.

April 17, 2016 - 3:00pm

The spring Women's Choral Ensemble concert will explore an eclectic mix of music ranging from works by Palestrina and Tallis to Lennon and McCartney, with American hymns and spirituals, Macedonian folk songs and Broadway show music to round out the program.

December 12, 2015 - 7:30pm

The Women's Choral Ensemble will present a program with a variety of repertoire ranging from Palestrina to Pentatonix and traditional holiday favorites.

October 4, 2015 - 4:00pm

The annual Pitt Choirs Showcase features Heinz Chapel Choir, Women's Choral Ensemble, and the Men's Glee Club in a celebration of choral music spanning folk, popular, and classical pieces. This year's showcase takes place in the stately sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh.

April 17, 2015 - 7:30pm

The Women's Choral Ensemble will present a variety of musical genres from chant to contemporary, including pieces by Donato, Guerrero, Lotti, Foster, Gershwin, Dawson, Mitchell, Barnwell and a new song by Pittsburgh area composer, Jonny Priano.

December 6, 2014 - 7:30pm

Lorraine Milovac directs Pitt’s Women’s Choral Ensemble in Britten's Ceremony of Carols with harp, traditional carols and holiday favorites including pieces by John Shepherd, Mikhail Ippolitov-Ivanov, and Andrew Rindfleisch.

October 5, 2014 - 4:00pm

Join the Heinz Chapel Choir, Women's Choral Ensemble, and Men's Glee Club for a celebration of choral singing at Pitt.
