Williams Receives Creative Development Grant

In the first year of their Investing in Professional Artists program, the Heinz Endowments and The Pittsburgh Foundation have awarded Amy Williams a $10,000 creative development grant to record her recent chamber music. The upcoming recording will include the Bugallao-Williams Piano Duo performing Abstracted Art I and II and Crossings (both for piano, four-hands), a solo piano piece performed by Williams titled Brigid’s Flame/Falling, and two works featuring the JACK Quartet: Richter Textures, (premiered by JACK in Pittsburgh last February) and Cineshape 2 for piano and string quartet with Williams at the piano.

Investing in Professional Artists is an effort to support artists in the Pittsburgh Region. Both national and regional panels reviewed submissions, awarding grants to established and emerging artists working in visual arts, multimedia, dance, music, theater, and literature. Williams was one of 13 individual artists to receive a creative development grant.
