Weston's Composition Selected for Mise-En Festival

Jeff WestonPhD Candidate Jeff Weston’s composition Ruler Piece No. 3: Slow Power Chord has been selected for performance in the 2017 Mise-En Music Festival. Ensemble Mise-En will perform the work during its festival taking place in New York City from June 20–25. Weston’s work was one of 49 chosen from over 1,100 submissions and will be part of a festival representing composers from around the world.

Weston’s music has been performed heard on venues such as the International Young Composers’ Forum, Vox Novus Composers’ Voice Series, Cal State University New Music Festival, Red Note New Music Festival, North American Saxophone Alliance National Conference, Contagious Sounds Series, Iowa Composers’ Forum, Bowling Green State University New Music Festival, University of Alberta NCounters Festival, University of Toronto, soundSCAPE Festival in Maccagno, Italy, and Radio France.

Ensemble Mise-En is a New York-based contemporary music collective led by composer Moon Young HA. The ensemble promotes large-scale, dynamic performances of contemporary music featuring the works of established and budding composers. Since its inception in 2011, ensemble mise-en has presented a total of 208 pieces, including 86 works written for the group, and 54 US/NY premieres. The ensemble has performed at exciting venues such as (le) poisson rouge, Bohemian National Hall, Italian Academy, the DiMenna Center, Tenri Cultural Institute and the cell.
