December 9, 2015 - 8:00pm

For their final concert of the semester Pitt's Symphony Orchestra presents Morton Feldman's Structures for orchestra (1960-62) and Jean Sibelius' Symphony no. 5 in E flat major, op. 82.

November 4, 2015 - 8:00pm

The University of Pittsburgh Symphony shows off the different sections of the orchestra with Carlo Gesualdo's brass septet, Moro, lasso, al mio duolo, Franz Krommer's Partita in F major, op. 77 for winds, and the premiere of David Mahler's After the Traveler (Sounding a Place to Stay) for string orchestra.

October 7, 2015 - 8:00pm

Roger Zahab leads the University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in a program featuring student soloist Gabriel Freedman performing Anton Rubinstein's Piano Concerto no. 4 in D minor, op. 70. Dvorak's Symphonic Variations will round out the program.

April 15, 2015 - 8:00pm

The University Orchestra's final concert of the semester will include Bach's Third Brandenburg Concerto, Rachmaninov's Second Symphony and new works or arrangements by six undergraduates: Garrett Carson, Hamid Campbell, Christian Clark, Eric Gratta, Dan Rothman and Brandon Smith

The University of Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra presents Elgar's Cello Concerto with cellist Stefan Poost, Mark Fromm's (PhD 2012) Steel, Slag, and Silicon, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8.

Pitt Arts will host its second annual Arts Festival on Friday, September 5 and once again the slate of performers will highlight some of our outstanding Department of Music students.
