Pitt Arts will host its second annual Arts Festival on Friday, September 5 and once again the slate of performers will highlight some of our outstanding Department of Music students.

May 7, 2014 - 8:00pm

The University of Pittsburgh Department of Music presents Oboe Quartets by Mozart and Malcom Arnold in a program featuring former and current faculty of the Department. The ensemble will comprise oboist Robin Driscoll, violinist Kypros Markou, Roger Zahab on viola, and Paula Tuttle on cello. Markou, Zahab, and Tuttle will also perform Schubert's String Trio No. 2 in B flat, D. 571.

April 19, 2014 - 7:30pm

Natalie Rogers' Senior Voice Recital will include a wide variety of songs from the classical and jazz repertoire. The program will encompass Puccini ("O mio babbino caro"), Brahms ("Sonntag"), Ellington/Strayhorn/ Mercer ("Satin Doll"), Mikky Ekko and Justin Parker's "Stay", and much more.

April 18, 2014 - 8:00pm

Vocalist Chloe Wieczorek will present a recital of jazz standards including songs by Jerome Kern ("The Way You Look Tonight"), Betty Carter ("Bluebird of Happiness"), George Gershwin ("Summertime"), and many more. Joining Wieczorek are pianist Ben Clifton, drummer Nick Volk, bassist Charlie Scott, and saxophonist Nicholas Amoscato.

The next Thursday Noon Recital features music by Arthur Hamiltorn, Erroll Garner, Elgar, Schubert, Dvorak, and Beethoven.

April 10, 2014 - 12:00pm

The next Thursday Noon Recital features music by Bach, Balakirev, Haydn, and Chopin.

April 2, 2014 - 7:30pm

Guitarist Grant Watkiss' Senior Recital will include music by Richar Rodgers, Andy McKee, John Duarte, Michael Hedges, and more.

April 3, 2014 - 12:00pm

The next Thrusday noon recital includes music by Beethoven, Schubert, Faure, Haydn, and more.


April 7, 2014 - 8:00pm

The 2014 Honors Recital will highlight performances by the Department of Music's most accomplished Music Majors. The program will include music by Ibert, Granados, Kodály, Poulenc, Ravel, and Beethoven.

April 6, 2014 - 2:30pm

Nicholas Amoscato's senior recital will include selections from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Flute and Piano (transposed for tenor sax), Chopin’s Fugue in A minor, Nica’s Dream by Horace Silver, Dienda by Kenny Kirkland, La Fiesta by Chick Corea, When I Fall In Love by Victor Young, When the Lady Dances by Bob Mintzer.
