Music on the Edge

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette classical music critic Elizabeth Bloom selected the Beyond: Microtonal Music Festival as one of 2015's best classical music events.

This November, Music on the Edge expanded its mission from being an importer of the world’s most innovative contemporary music to being an exporter. Billed as Music on the Edge in New York, co-directors Eric Moe and Mathew Rosenblum organized a concert featuring primarily Pitt composers at New York City’s Subculture.

November 12, 2015 - 4:00pm

In conjunction with his year-long residency with Alia Musica Pittsburgh, Ken Ueno will give a presentation on some of his recent pieces within the general context of his music. Recent works embody instrumental research: a process of "babbling technique" that leads to research of extended technique on traditional instruments, hacking of existing instruments, and invention of new instruments.
