Men's Glee Club

The Pitt Men's Glee Club returned safely to the U.S. on May 10th after a highly successful tour of Italy, including stops in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Assisi and many other locales. Glee Club members have published an extensive blog about their tour filled with vivid descriptions and wonderful photos. Summarizing the tour they write,

The Pitt Men’s Glee Club celebrates its 125th Anniversary this week with a series of special events for alumni and current members culminating in a performance by the Glee Club at First Baptist Church.

Join us as we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the University of Pittsburgh Men's Glee Club. The Men's Glee Club, founded in 1890, is the oldest non-athletic extracurricular activity on campus.

December 6, 2014 - 4:00pm

The Men's Glee Club Holiday Concert will feature guest soprano Katy Williams and the Steel City Men's Chorale. The program will include works by Manz, Praetorius, Rachmaninoff, Reger, and Salamone Rossi as well as carols from England, Ireland and Catalonia.

October 5, 2014 - 4:00pm

Join the Heinz Chapel Choir, Women's Choral Ensemble, and Men's Glee Club for a celebration of choral singing at Pitt.

Follow the Pitt Men’s Glee Club on their 2014 Spring Tour to Philadelphia and New York. The tour takes place March 9–14 and includes a performances with the Villanova Voices (women’s choir), the Empire City Men’s Chorus, and even a performance at New York’s famous St. Patrick’s Cathedral. March 6, 2014 - 7:30pm

The Pitt Men's Glee Club will host the The University of Illinois Varsity Men's Glee Club at First Baptist Church on Thursday, March 6. This joint concert will feature music by works by Handl, Liszt, Moses Hogan, and Biebl. The program is free, but a freewill offering will be taken to help defray costs.

December 5, 2013 - 12:00pm

The next Thursday Noon Recital includes vocal music by Bellini, Scarlatti, and Ellington and music for violin and piano by Corelli.

On Friday, September 6, the Pitt Arts Arts Festival will take place at the William Pitt Union from noon–5:30 p.m. This year, the Arts Festival will feature two outstanding Department of Music Ensembles: the University Gamelan and the Men's Glee Glub.

April 5, 2014 - 8:00pm

The Men's Glee Club Spring Concert features works by Handl, Mocnik, Liszt, Moses Hogan, and folk song arrangements by Robert Shaw and Alice Parker. Don't miss the opportunity to hear the Glee fresh off their spring tour.
