Men's Glee Club

April 8, 2017 - 4:00pm

The Men's Glee Club Spring Concert will feature works by Gastoldi, Mendelssohn and Morley as well as favorites from American Musical Theater by Cole Porter, Stephen Schwartz and Meredith Willson.

Auditions will be held for Department of Music student ensembles beginning Monday, August 29. Our choirs and instrumental ensembles are open to students throughout the University and you are encourgaged to apply regardless of your major. Below, please find specific audition requirements for each of our groups.

Richard Teaster directs the Pitt Men’s Glee Club in sacred and popular music for the holiday season.

October 9, 2016 - 4:00pm

Join Heinz Chapel Choir, Men's Glee Club, and Women's Choral Ensemble as they combine their talents in a celebration of choral singing at Pitt. The Men's Glee Club and Pantherhythms, under the direction of Richard Teaster, will sing a variety of music ranging from 16th century English madrigals to favorites by Billy Joel.

April 16, 2016 - 8:00pm

Pitt Men's Glee Club Spring Concert will feature works by Mendelssohn, Monteverdi, Pitoni and Tallis as well as arrangements of early American and Appalachian folk songs.

December 12, 2015 - 4:00pm

Celebrate the holidays with the Pitt Men's Glee Club. The Glee Club will perform a program featuring works by Bach, Darke, and Golovanov as well as English, French and Ukrainian carols.

October 4, 2015 - 4:00pm

The annual Pitt Choirs Showcase features Heinz Chapel Choir, Women's Choral Ensemble, and the Men's Glee Club in a celebration of choral music spanning folk, popular, and classical pieces. This year's showcase takes place in the stately sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Pittsburgh.

The Pitt Men's Glee Club returned safely to the U.S. on May 10th after a highly successful tour of Italy, including stops in Rome, Florence, Bologna, Assisi and many other locales. Glee Club members have published an extensive blog about their tour filled with vivid descriptions and wonderful photos. Summarizing the tour they write,

The Pitt Men’s Glee Club celebrates its 125th Anniversary this week with a series of special events for alumni and current members culminating in a performance by the Glee Club at First Baptist Church.

Join us as we celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the University of Pittsburgh Men's Glee Club. The Men's Glee Club, founded in 1890, is the oldest non-athletic extracurricular activity on campus.
