Tanya Maggi, viola David Russell, ‘cello Joe Liu, violin, and Robert Frankenberry, piano
The progam will feature Rebecca Clarke's Sonata for viola and piano, Nicola LeFanu's Piano Trio, Orianna Webb's Piano Trio, Judith Weir's St. Agnes, and the first performance of Roger Zahab's Venus transported.


The American Musicological Society held its Annual Meeting in Quebec City November 1–4. Several of our grad students and faculty were in attendance and, in between sessions, had time to catch up with alumni and friends of the Department of Music. Many thanks to grad students Brandi Neal and Chris Ruth, and Professor Mary Lewis for the many excellent photos.

tristancover.jpg Eric Moe's sit-trag (situation tragedy) Tri-Stan has been released on CD by Koch International Classics. Moe's acclaimed mono-drama is performed by mezzo soprano Mary Nessinger and New York's Sequitur Ensemble with Paul Hostetter conducting. According to Moe it's "the first ever recording of a sit-trag." You can get the CD at Amazon...
deane.JPG On Tuesday (September 4) the Department held a reception to celebrate Deane Root's (pictured above) five years as Chair, and to pass that mantle on to Mathew Rosenblum (pictured below).
Andrew Weintraub was featured in a recent Indonesian television series produced by Voice of America. The series presented profiles of Americans with a passion for Indonesia. In August, the series aired on national and regional stations in Indonesia during Indonesian independence month. You can see the program here.
