Music on the Edge and The Andy Warhol Museum will present a dual recital featuring the Bugallo-Williams Piano Duo and violinist Sarah Plum.

The 2016 Artists in Residence Program is a joint collaboration between the Departments of Physics and Astronomy, Studio Arts, and Music. Two graduate composers from the Department of Music and two undergraduate artists from the Department of Studio Arts created artworks in active consultation with faculty members from the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

Amy Williams has been awarded a Goddard Lieberson Fellowship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. Goddard Lieberson Fellowships, endowed in 1978 by the CBS Foundation, are given to mid-career composers of exceptional gifts. Williams is one of two Lieberson recipients for this year.

Ivan Jimenez (PhD 2007) and Tuire Kuusi (Sibelius Academy, Helsinki) received a grant from the Kone Foundation (Finland) to study the way musicians and non-musicians mentally process and remember chord progressions.

February 19, 2016 - 4:00pm

Amy Williams and Aaron Henderson will present a work-in-progress showing of Cineshape, a collaborative work for music and video. Guests include flutist Lindsey Goodman, percussionist Scott Christian, and chemist Natasha L. Smith. The performance will be followed by a discussion about collaboration between disciplines.
