Alia Musica Pittsburgh, a consortium of young composers and performers in the Pittsburgh area, is pleased to bring you its second-ever series of concerts, beginning with its first concert Saturday, Oct. 13th at 7:00 PM, and concluding with a second concert Thursday, Oct. 18th at 7:30 PM. Both concerts are at the Eddy Theatre on the Chatham University Campus (between Shadyside and Squirrel Hill).
I am playing another show at Howler's Coyote Cafe on Wednesday, Oct 3rd. This one will debut a brand new progressive electro-rock composition. Moe's acclaimed mono-drama is performed by mezzo soprano Mary Nessinger and New York's Sequitur Ensemble with Paul Hostetter conducting. Pitt’s acclaimed contemporary music series, Music on the Edge, will present three piano recitals on September 20, 29, and October 5. Billed as the Powerhouse Pianists Festival, each concert will feature two leading proponents of contemporary piano music in programs covering the full spectrum of the modern repertoire. All recitals in the Powerhouse Pianists Festival take place at Pitt’s Bellefield Hall Auditorium at 8 p.m. (315 S. Bellefield Avenue, just across from Heinz Chapel). We have postponed our presentation of the Sirius String Quartet due to cellist Dave Eggar’s recent shoulder injury. Music on the Edge hopes to reschedule this outstanding ensemble for spring of 2008.
