Celebrating the Class of 2015

On April 26, the Department of Music hosted a graduation brunch with senior undergraduates, MA and PhD graduates, and their families to celebrate the accomplishments of the class of 2015. The gathering took place in the William Pitt Union where copious offerings of food from Campus Catering and an overflowing sense of accomplishment shared by those in attendance combined for a truly celebratory atmosphere.

Department of Music Chair Andrew Weintraub offered words of welcome and congratulations to the students and their families and introduced the faculty and staff. He turned the podium over to Director of Undergraduate Studies Adriana Helbig who shared words of praise she had gathered from the rest of the faculty about each graduate .

Director of Graduate Studies Deane Root presented our MA and PhD graduates and their research directors who in turn, described the work and accomplishments of each of the degree recipients. 

The 2014–15 Academic year was filled with inspired music making and insightful scholarship. We are grateful for all our graduates contributed to the Department during their time at Pitt. It was wonderful to celebrate their accomplishments knowing that are many more to come as they embark on the next phase of their careers.
