Betty Davis Documentary Premieres in Pittsburgh

Betty! They Say I’m Different (Native Voice Films, 2017) is a documentary for which PhD candidate Danielle Maggio was associate producer. The film will be screened multiple times in Pittsburgh beginning on February 25th through March 3:

Sunday, Feb. 25th at 7 p.m. at the August Wilson Center as part of the Black Bottom Film Festival (facebook event)

Thursday, March 1st, 8:45 p.m. at Row House Cinema (followed by a Funky Dance Party at Cattivo starting at 10:30 p.m. DJs Selecta, Buscrates, Kelly Carter, and Gina Mungo will spin an all vinyl funk set to honor Betty! (facebook event)

Saturday, March 3rd culminates with workshops, a panel discussion hosted at Melwood Screening Room (facebook event) and a screening and reunion performance of Davis’ band at the Regent Square Theater (facebook event). See the complete press release for the March 3rd events here.
